The Alachua County Tax collector’s Office opened it’s doors this past Saturday to welcome students looking to obtain their Learner’s Permit or Driver License. The office partnered with Alachua County high schools and their Driver Education Instructors to bring in students and parents in on the weekend. Typically parents would have to take off work to bring their student-driver in to the Tax Collector’s office regular Monday through Friday hours.
Nearly 100 students took part in DELAP (Driver Education Licensing Assistance Program) and the tax collector’s office brought in extra staff to ensure the students and parents could all be served efficiently within the 8:00-12:00 window.
