John Power, Installed as President of the Florida Tax Collector’s Association.

As of 9/01/2020 we are pleased to announce that John Power was installed as the President of the Florida Tax Collectors Association, the statewide association representing 67 tax collectors throughout the state of Florida. He previously served as Vice President and the Secretary of Education. Alachua County Clerk of the Court, Jess Irby, performed the swearing-in ceremony for Mr. Power and the other officers of the board.

We celebrate this honorable appointment and are proud of his leadership!

The Alachua County Tax Collector will be opening the Invitation To Bid packages, ITB #2020-02, on Tuesday, April 28, 2020 at approximately 3:00 pm. The ITB will be opened at the Tax Collector’s Downtown location, 12 SE 1st ST., Gainesville, FL 32601.

March 26, 2020- U.S. Department of Homeland Security Extends REAL ID to October 1, 2021

The United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has announced that it is extending the REAL ID Act of 2005 (P.L. 109-13) until October 1, 2021. DHS will accompany the announcement with a notice of the new deadline in the Federal Register in the coming days.
