Cell Phones for Soldiers

Bring Us Your Old Cell Phones!

Since 2006 the Alachua County Tax Collectors Office has been an official Cell Phones For Soldiers Drop-Off Location. Mobile devices and tablets donated to CPFS are quickly wiped of all personal information, sold to recyclers who strip the devices of any salvageable components and/or rare metals and then responsibly recycle the remaining parts. The proceeds from this process are used to purchase prepaid international calling cards for troops and to provide emergency funding to veterans. Approximately 2,500 callings cards are mailed to the troops each week. Drop off boxes are available at all Alachua County Tax Collector locations.
