ACTC Achieves Top Five Highest Donor Participation for Local United Way Campaign

The Alachua County Tax Collector’s Office was recognized by the United Way of North Central Florida as one of the top five workplace campaigns for staff participation.  Out of 76 employees, our organization had a 97% participation rate in donations to United Way for 2015.

We could not have achieved this accomplishment without encouragement and organization on behalf of our Campaign Coordinators.  Our Campaign Coordinators this year were:

  • Toya
  • Jody
  • Kyle
  • Gerri
  • Kay

Congratulations to everyone who participated in this year’s United Way Campaign.

Tax Collector Team walks with “Lauren’s Kids”

This past Saturday the Tax Collector’s Office had a team representing the office in support of Lauren’s Kids at the 2016 Walk in My Shoes event.  They walked five and a half miles with Lauren’s Kids, an organization whose Mission is to “prevent sexual abuse through education and awareness, and to help survivors heal with guidance and support”.

Six Tax Collector employees participated in the walk.  Thank you to the following employees who came out on the weekend to support such an important cause:

  • Melissa
  • Valerie
  • Kyle
  • Diana
  • Rebecca
  • Christie

John Power was also in attendance to help kick off the walk and share how the Tax Collector’s office partners with Lauren’s Kids to issue their specialty license plate.  You can learn more about Lauren’s Kids by visiting their website: www.LaurensKids.org.
