Florida Freedom Boater Decals

The 2025 Florida Legislature passed SB 1388 directing the FLHSMV to offer customers the option to receive a Florida Freedom Boater Safety Inspection Decal if the customer submits an attestation signifying that the vessel is deemed to have met the safety equipment carriage and use requirements upon the registration or renewal of a vessel. The Boater Freedom Act prohibits random safety stops and requires probable cause for law enforcement to search a boat. Decals are available at county tax collector offices in Florida.
